Roadway Engineer - Winter Park, FL


JOB TITLE: Roadway Engineer 
LOCATION:  Winter Park, FL
EDUCATION: Bachelors
MAJORS: Civil Engineering
STATUS: Full-time
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
START DATE: Immediately

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic roadway design principles and show a desire to improve upon his/her talent while working under an experienced roadway engineer on a wide variety of projects for DOT, counties, municipalities, and other transportation agencies.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Could act as Engineer of Record for less complex projects
  • Demonstrate proficiency in most aspects of project development for less complex projects
  • Commonly serves in role of lead technical professional (LTP), but typically under the responsible charge of a more senior PE
  • Proficient in technical writing
  • Assist Project Managers in a variety of project administrative duties
  • Capable of leading marketing efforts for less complex projects
  • Capable of presenting to client on projects that PGA is pursuing
  • Assists Senior Engineers with marketing efforts on larger, more complex projects
  • Directs Engineer Interns, Designers, and Technical Staff in completing tasks, providing frequent peer reviews on their work
  • Requires little-to-no technical supervision by senior staff
  • Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, majoring in Engineering
  • 5-10 years of progressively complex engineering experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities in all aspects
