Purpose & Need

PGA is looking to expand our presence and expertise in the water resource industry. As the demand for sustainable water resource solutions increases, the role of water resource engineers is even more vital. From conserving and restoring water quality, to designing and developing flood mitigation systems, water resource engineers are essential to help navigate the challenges of our ever-changing climate and expanding industry. PGA seeks someone who is ready and eager to propel PGA into this new market sector, with the full support of our established Drainage Group. The ideal candidate should be motivated to take charge of tasks and excited to advance their career with a firm eager to see them succeed.

 What You’ll Do

  • Design and manage water resource projects, including stormwater management systems, watershed studies, stormwater retrofits, and flood control projects.
  • Conduct hydrological analyses and hydraulic modeling to evaluate the impacts of water resource projects on the local environment and community.
  • Prepare, review, and update technical reports, permits, and project proposals.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, environmental scientists, planners, and project stakeholders to ensure that projects meet design standards and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to manage water resources effectively and sustainably.
  • Conduct field investigations to collect data and verify design computations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members.

 What’ll You’ll Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Professional Engineering Licensure in the state of Florida
  • Experience in water resources engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.

 What You’ll Bring

  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD software to assist in development of hydraulic modeling.
  • Experience with ICPR 4, SWMM, HCSWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS
  • Experience with ArcGIS as it relates to hydraulic modeling (ArcHydro & GWIS)
  • Excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with a variety of clients
  • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work and meet deadlines
