CEI Contract Support Specialist 


JOB TITLE: CEI Contract Support Specialist 
LOCATION:  Tampa or Bartow
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent experience
STATUS: Full-time
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
START DATE: Immediately

This position may require work assignments beyond the local area and may support more than one project in remote field offices. Work hours of this position are not defined and may vary based on project needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide support services to the Senior Project Engineer (SPE) and Project Administrator (PA) by performing construction administration duties related to the project. 
  • Coordinate and work cooperatively with the project team and contractor to verify project related documentation is being furnished per FDOT’s Construction Project Administration Manual (CPAM) and contract documents.
  • Exercise independent judgement in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of a construction project.
  • Processing contractor’s monthly estimates, prepare final estimate submittal, processing supplemental agreements, change orders and other project related functions in accordance with CPAM.
  • Completes tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner meeting PGA standards with minimal errors within established supervisor’s expectations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the SPE and/or PA.

Education and Experience (Required):
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, plus four (4) years of road and bridge construction engineering inspection (CEI) experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):
  • Must have superb interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator able to relay information concisely to stakeholders of all backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to details is a must.
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I and II.
  • Experience with FDOT Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) System, Site Manager, and EEO compliance. LAP experience a plus.
  • Be familiar with FDOT’s procedures covering position and project related duties.
  • Be familiar with computer programs necessary to perform those duties.
  • Ability to deal with constant interruptions while working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining high standards in all work efforts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Shall become proficient with Trimble Business Center – Heavy Construction Edition.
  • Resident Compliance experience preferred.
