Mote Science and Education Aquarium (SEA)
PGA was entrusted by the Mote SEA Aquarium to provide Quality Assurance (QA) for the protective linings of 14 aquatic display and holding tanks, ranging in size from 5,000 to 400,000 gallons. Our responsibilities spanned from overseeing substrate preparation to validating final coating applications, ensuring long-term durability and protection.
Initially engaged through periodic site visits, our team transitioned to a full-time onsite presence when unforeseen challenges in surface preparation and lining application emerged. Working side-by-side with the installation crew, we delivered real-time, technically sound solutions that prevented delays and safeguarded the project timeline.
Our QA specialists utilized advanced testing methods including ultrasonic dry-film thickness measurements, high-voltage spark detection, and dolly pull-off adhesion tests. This hands-on approach reinforced communication between stakeholders and enabled us to navigate complex issues with transparency and efficiency.
By embedding ourselves within the process, PGA helped ensure the successful protection of these state-of-the-art marine habitats, demonstrating our commitment to collaboration, quality, and marine life stewardship.
