RIOMAR Automated Outfall Structures

PGA designed automated outfall structures (AOS) within an existing flood compensation pond and drainage pond to provide additional flood storage. Prior to major storm events, these AOS devices can be opened remotely to make additional storage volume available. PGA worked with Manatee County to permit the project and advance the devices into construction. The County and PGA also coordinated with the HOA to install the devices within existing ponds in the RIOMAR HOW community. As part of the project, PGA designed an 8-inch water main offset to avoid a utility conflict.
