Winter Park Drive Concept Development Study
A key goal of the City of Casselberry is to become the most walkable, rollable, and bikeable City in Central Florida, where active transportation becomes a viable and routine choice for daily mobility needs, thereby increasing community health, equity, economic vitality, and environmental stewardship. The Winter Park Drive Concept Development Study identifies roadway improvements to improve transportation choices, improve overall transportation safety outcomes, and serve as a catalyst project for other corridor improvements. As a foundational component of the existing conditions analysis, PGA’s Planning Group supported prime consultant Fehr & Peers by leading a multidisciplinary walking audit of the corridor, focusing on pedestrian safety, comfort, and accessibility. The audit results were used to identify short-term and long-term needs to build into the study’s development of alternatives. PGA Planning also developed multimodal design scenarios, conducted benefit analysis, and refined the preferred alternative, while PGA’s Roadway Group conducted an engineering feasibility analysis of the project alternatives, prepared project cost estimates, and developed a design phase scope of services.
