Now Presenting: 2024 Florida’s Urban Forestry Institute

Katie Habgood, AICP was invited to present at the 2024 Florida Urban Forestry Council’s annual meeting presented by the Urban Forestry Institute, a statewide gathering of professional arborists and other urban forestry professionals. As a transportation planner who is passionate about increasing communities’ street trees and urban tree canopy, Katie was thrilled to share more about the opportunities to work across disciplines to achieve common goals. Over 400 session attendees learned a bit about city planning, why it’s important to incorporate street trees as a regular city planning tool – particularly when it comes to addressing mobility access and pedestrian safety, and next steps planners and arborists can take together to make a difference.
The Urban Forestry Institute is a yearly conference hosted by the Florida Urban Forestry Council.
